About FMS
-Fishburne is a boarding and day school for boys in grades 7-12 & PG.
-Fishburne offers a rolling admissions policy and routinely enrolls 20% of our cadets throughout the school year; typically in October, November, December, February and March. Rolling Admission allows parents the opportunity to submit an Application for Admission and have their son enrolled at any point during the year.
-Fishburne is fully accredited by both VAIS (Virginia Association of Independent Schools) and SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools).
-Often parents discover a level of discontent with their public school during the school year, and therefore Fishburne’s admission policy is designed such that we can tailor program details to the scholastic needs of each new cadet.
-The majority (about 70%) of our cadets arrive at Fishburne in late August to begin the Fall Semester and school year.
-Approximately 10% of cadets enroll in January for the start of the Spring Semester.
-Each year, five to ten parents elect to enroll their son at Fishburne for our ‘Spring Advantage’ program designed to rescue those students who have fallen behind on their coursework. The program admits students from Mid-February through March and combines this period with our five-week Summer School.
-The majority of our cadets also return for Summer School. Our Summer School program has been developed to assist those cadets who need to catch up or get ahead on their studies, and to provide access to our coveted JROTC programs.
