Track competes in WHS Invitational

The Fishburne Military School track team competed in the Waynesboro High School Invitational on May 2.

FMS Highlights
- 4 x 800 relay (Turnnidge, Collins, Park, Berry), 2nd, 9:29
- 100: Morrison-Rodgers, 3rd, 12.2
- 400 T. J. Mason, 1st, 55.8 (won by .1)
- 800: Berry, 3rd, 2:24 (ran well but somewhat dead legs from a Sunday cycling event)
- 1600: Turnnidge, 1st, 4:55 (slow, tactical race that came down to a final sprint); Park, 5th, 5:41
- 4 x 100 relay (Morrison-Rodgers, Hughes, McIntyre, Mason), 3rd, 48.2
- 3200: Harold, 2nd, 13:30
- Discus: Simons, 4th, 93’8″

Golf wins tough match

The Fishburne golf team won a tough match yesterday against North Cross School, 147-156.

Jacob Cochran showed alot of heart during the round going 6 over par through the first four holes, and then went 1 under par the last five holes shooting a low score of 41. Chris Anderson and Foster Evans both played as well; each carding a 53.

FMS Football Helmet Replacement Program

Due to a new policy by The National Athletic Equipment Reconditioning Association (NAERA), helmets over 10 years old will no longer be recertified for use.

Fishburne football has 55 usable football helmets for the upcoming season. However, 33 of those helmets will be decertified after the forthcoming season as they will be over 10 years old in 2013, leaving us with 22 serviceable helmets for the 2013 season. In total over the next two years we will have to replace 43 helmets.  Read more

FMS baseball report

The early part of the Fishburne baseball season has been tough to find a victory , but close games and good performances have been early surprises.

Thursday night in the JV game, Michael Usoltsev pitched five innings of very strong baseball, striking out seven, walking just one batter, and only allowing one run in the five innings. This was his first start ever on the pitching mound, and had a tremendous performance in getting the start. Read more
