Choices and Consequences

It was “back in the classroom again” for former FMS Battalion Commander Steve McLeroy, ’84, who spent April 6 engaged in lively discussions with JROTC cadets here from his unique perspective as a long-time Baltimore County Police Officer.

FMS Discusses Military Style of Information Transfer and Teaching

At Fishburne Military School we work each day motivated by the knowledge that a team of professionals is securing the future lives of our cadets one class, practice, and drill at a time. Our method of educating young men works as evidenced by our 131 years of tradition and success. Currently, 100% of our seniors are accepted into a college or university of their choice. Read more

Chief among is the wide diversity in programs offered by both types of schools. However, we can share our beliefs based on what we’ve done and seen since 1879. Read more

Small Class Sizes are Better!

_DSC4431All parents know in their hearts that small classes offer the best environment for learning. That why at Fishburne we keep our student-teacher ratio at 6:1.

The benefits of small class size, especially in grades K-12, seem so obvious that you’d think everybody could agree on this idea. Actually, they don’t. Some school administrators argue in favor of large classes. That’s particularly true for people charged with running large public education systems. From an accounting standpoint, small classes are inefficient. A locality that wants to cut class size needs more classrooms and more teachers, and these costs more money. Read more
